Food from Britain has dimissed speculation that DEFRA would refuse to give it the extra cash expected in the wake of the Policy Commission's report on the Future of Farming and Food.
FFB director of business and UK services Charlotte Lawson said: "We will be receiving additional money on top of current government funding. The rumours circulating in the food industry that we would not are simply false.
"I can confirm this funding will be allocated in response to the Curry report and will specifically contribute to developing a regional food strategy.
"We are meeting with Defra at the moment to approve our strategy and projects for next year."
