Wyke Farms is pitching its half-fat cheese brand Les Kol against big hitter Mini Babybel in a bid to take a slice of the snacking cheese category.
Les Kol On The Go is a tube of five individually wrapped 20g cheese spheres, which Wyke Farms claims is the first half-fat snack of its kind in the prepacked cheese sector. It is designed for adults’ and children’s lunchboxes as well as impulse purchases.
The product shares the same health benefits of standard Les Kol Half Fat, which is made using Somerset milk that has its fat replaced with half the amount of vegetable fat. Each portion contains 50 calories and 1.3% saturated fat, is low in cholesterol and rich in Omega-3 and 6.
It is made using LoSalt - a reduced sodium salt enriched with potassium - to give the product wide appeal among health-conscious consumers.
Les Kol On The Go has secured listings in Asda nationwide with an rsp of £1.47.
