Lidl has thrown its hat into the ring of supermarket value Christmas dinners, with the promise of a festive meal to feed six people for £11.26.
Lidl’s value Christmas meal, which equates to £1.87 per person, includes a Birchwood Small Whole Turkey (3kg) for £8.85, or £2.95 per kilo, Newgate Gravy (300g) for 99p, Newgate Stuffing for 40p and 15 Simply Yorkshire Puddings for 40p. Also in the deal are four festive veg lines, which Lidl has previously said will be reduced in price to 15p each ahead of Christmas: potatoes (2kg), brussels sprouts (500g), carrots (1kg) and parsnips (500g).
The prices will be available in Lidl stores from 17 December and are open to all shoppers, not just loyalty scheme members.
It comes after Aldi and Tesco unveiled their value Christmas dinners for six last week.
Aldi’s costs £11.45 and includes Small Fresh British Turkey for £8.85, or 2.95 per kg, Quixo Sage & Onion Stuffing Mix (170g) for 45p, Quixo Gravy Granules (300g) for £1.09, 15 Everyday Essentials Yorkshire Puddings for 46p, and four veg lines at 15p each: potatoes (2kg), brussels sprouts (500g), carrots (1kg) and parsnips (500g).
Aldi’s reduced festive meal prices will be available in store from 19 December. Since Aldi has no loyalty scheme, they are also available to all shoppers.
Tesco’s Christmas dinner for six costs £11.05 and is available only to members of its Clubcard loyalty scheme. Its deal includes a small Tesco White Whole Turkey reduced from £5 to £3 per kilo, Chicken Gravy Granules (200g) for 65p, Sage & Onion Stuffing Mix (170g) for 40p, and 15 Hearty Food Co Yorkshire Puddings (230g) for 40p. Like Lidl and Aldi’s deals, it also includes potatoes (2kg), brussels sprouts (500g), carrots (1kg) and parsnips (500g) all priced at 15p each.
Tesco’s deal is available from 19 December.
