Lidl is encouraging shoppers to eat more fruit & veg, with a chance to win £10,000 by spending £20 on fresh produce during February.
Shoppers must complete a digital ‘fruit & veg stamp card’ in the Lidl Plus loyalty app for a chance of winning. Every £5 spent on fresh fruit & veg from today (2 February) until 1 March earns one stamp, with four stamps needed to complete a card.
Each completed card offers customers one entry in the prize draw.
As well the top prize of £10,000 cash, entrants could win one of 100,000 coupons for more fruit & veg from the discounter. Alternatively, they can convert each coupon to a £1 donation to Lidl’s community food redistribution partner Neighbourly.
The promotion applies only to fresh fruit & veg, including prepared fresh, with no stamps earned for buying frozen or tinned produce.
Entrants must also opt-in in the Lidl Plus app and scan the app on their phones at checkout.
The promotion comes as new research reveals many lower-income families consumed less veg over the Christmas period compared with a year earlier due to the cost of living crisis.
In 2021, Lidl pledged ‘healthy or healthier’ products would make up 85% of its sales by weight by 2025, up from 80% at the time.
