Lidl will launch its new Christmas advertising campaign on TV on Thursday. The series of ads, which launched in cinemas last weekend, are part of the £20m ‘Lidl Surprises’ campaign it introduced in September.
The new Christmas ad shows diners being treated to a slap up Christmas dinner before they try and guess where the food came from. They are subsequently surprised to learn it came from Lidl.
The ’Little Present’ ad focuses on Lidl’s Deluxe premium range, which will feature 244 products this Christmas, 59 of them are new. The discounter expects the Christmas lines to generate sales of £40m.
The new Deluxe seasonal lines, includie whole lobsters, scallops and reindeer carpaccio.
“It goes without saying that Christmas is the most expensive time of year,” said Lidl’s UK MD Ronny Gottschlich. “But you don’t need to break the bank to have a great festive season –nor do you have to compromise on quality to get good value, because you can buy everything you need for a delicious Christmas at Lidl. We’ve sourced some of the finest foods from across Europe to complement our fresh, local produce, so everyone can make the most of this special time of year, regardless of budget.”
