Time Wholesale Services is converting its retail club members to the Lifestyle Express fascia.
The move sees 30 stores switching to Lifestyle Express, taking the number of stores trading under the fascia to just under 800. This represents a significant boost for Lifestyle Express, which has experienced a sharp decline recently. There were 1,490 Lifestyle Express stores as of May 2017, according to the Grocery Retail Structure, published by William Reed.
Time has also created an in-depot display area, showcasing the benefits of Lifestyle Express, which it said was attracting a lot of attention.

“It made sense for us to convert our existing retail club members to Lifestyle Express,” said Time Wholesale Services MD Sony Bihal. “As part of Lifestyle Express, our retailers will now have the best support in the business, including a dedicated magazine and website, industry-leading planograms, core range and a packed promotional calendar which enables them to compete effectively, whatever their trading environment.”
Lifestyle Express is run by buying group Landmark Wholesale, which is due to complete its merger with Today’s Group on 31 October, becoming Unitas Wholesale.
“We are delighted to be working with Time Wholesale and their retailers,” said Landmark Wholesale retail controller Stuart Johnson. “There is a significant opportunity for the Lifestyle Express fascia in the south east and we, via Time, are receiving strong interest.
“We have gone through a period of consolidation following the exit of Blakemore Wholesale from cash & carry and we have switched the majority of the Lifestyle Express retailers previously supplied by Blakemore to alternate Landmark Wholesale member depots.”
