Lily’s Kitchen has moved to strengthen its senior leadership team with the appointment of Chris Lock to the newly created position of marketing director.
Set to take on his role at the ethical pet food brand later this month, Lock will join from Diageo, where he has spent more than nine years in a number of senior marketing roles globally working on brands including Smirnoff, Baileys, Pimm’s, Gordon’s and Captain Morgan. Over the past two years, he has headed the drinks giant’s innovation team for Europe.
Prior to Diageo, Lock held a series of marketing roles at Camelot and Coca Cola, where he worked on Fanta, Lilt, Sprite and Dr Pepper for the UK market.
At Lily’s Kitchen, he will oversee UK and international marketing, and will report to CEO and founder Henrietta Morrison, who called his appointment “an exciting and directional move” for the brand. “Chris will play a pivotal role in bringing a fresh approach to our customers, brand and communications. His customer insight and leadership skills will be crucial and a great asset as we take the business to the next level,” she said.
Lock added: “I’m looking forward to using my broad experience to develop disruptive marketing campaigns that resonate with all our potential customers, and to leading the Lily’s Kitchen team to achieve their ambitious goals.”
His arrival at the brand will follow that of Emma Wrigley, who has joined as new product director, having worked for businesses including John Lewis, Fortnum & Mason, and Hunter Boots. Her hiring meant “exciting times lay ahead for Lily’s Kitchen and its consumers”, said Morrison.
Wrigley said: “I am so excited by the fantastic opportunity to take this company to the next stage of growth.”
