Lincolnshire Co-op has partnered with Just Eat to offer delivery from 27 of its society’s stores.
A further 10 stores will be listed on the Just Eat app and accept orders for click & collect.
App users will be able to select from a range of more than 950 SKUs covering food, drink and household essentials, and “get them delivered straight to their door within minutes”.
Locations offering the service include: Lincoln, Grantham, Boston, Scunthorpe, Worksop, Peterborough, Gainsborough, Brigg, Newark, Sleaford, Bourne and Horncastle.
“We’re always looking to provide more services to our customers to make their lives easier – teaming up with Just Eat helps us do that,” said Lincolnshire Co-op’s food project manager Gavin Willson.
The new partnership follows Just Eat’s deal last month with Booker Wholesale, giving the operators of Londis, Premier, Budgens and Family Shopper the option to tap Just Eat’s 18 million-strong customer base, and its ability to reach 97% of UK postcodes. Just Eat said the breadth of its delivery network meant it would be able to service more than 3,000 Booker Wholesale symbol group stores.
In February the food delivery platform teamed up with Central England Co-op, giving shoppers access to more than 1,500 products delivered from stores across Cambridgeshire, Leicestershire, Nottinghamshire, Northamptonshire, the West Midlands and Yorkshire.
“As we continue to expand rapidly in the retail space, on-demand grocery delivery will continue to be an area of significant focus,” said Just Eat UK strategic accounts director Amy Heather.
“Our exciting new partnership with Lincolnshire Co-op signals our commitment to continually offer convenience across all parts of the UK. Being the number one food delivery app, our customers can access everything from delicious meals from their local takeaway or favourite restaurant brand, to stocking up on store cupboard essentials and fresh groceries from their local supermarket or convenience store – all delivered in a matter of minutes.”
Just Eat’s grocery estate in the UK has expanded from 20 sites to over 1,800 sites on the platform since launching in January this year. Some 450 sites rolled out on the platform in July alone.
Just Eat Takeaway.com already supports over 25,000 grocery and convenience stores on its platforms globally, including partnerships with brands such as Spar, Albert Heijn, Shell, 7-Eleven, Marqt, The Beer Store and Lieferando Express.
