Profits at Northern Irish meat processor Linden Foods are up 17% thanks partly to increased efficiencies and a strategy of targeting the top end of retail and foodservice.
Pre-tax profit rose 17% to £2m for the year to 30 September 2009 on turnover up 10.5% to £203.1m, including its share of joint ventures.
But the company remained concerned about sustaining a year-round domestic meat supply chain. It was looking to form organic and Angus beef producer links to even out seasonal swings.
