Lindt’s take on the viral TikTok trend first hit the UK in December

Lindt has secured Sainsbury’s, Waitrose and Ocado listings for its £10 Dubai-style chocolate bars.

The 145g milk chocolate tablets are inspired by a viral TikTok trend.

They were manufactured in Germany “using state-of-the-art technology”, and are filled with pistachio and kadayif pastry.

A limited run of the bars first hit the shelves of selected Lindt stores in the UK in December. However, the popular treats have this week been restocked in all Lindt UK shops, also rolling into Sainsbury’s and Ocado. They will hit Waitrose on 31 March.

What’s more, Lindt has expanded the range with a Dubai Style Chocolate Praline Box and a smaller 40g sized Dubai Style Chocolate bar, which will hit its flagship London store tomorrow (21 March).

“We’re thrilled to be bringing back our Lindt Dubai Style Chocolate bar to the UK, with exclusive lines in our brand-new London flagship store,” said Lindt master chocolatier Stefan Bruderer.

“We know how much our consumers enjoyed this chocolate bar when we first launched and how much demand there was, so it’s an honour to make it more widely available this time around.”

Since Dubai chocolatier Fix Dessert launched its Can’t Get Knafeh Of It bar, filled with crispy knafeh, pistachio and tahini paste, in 2021, “#dubaichocolate” has gained viral traction on TikTok.

The treat has been the subject of over 300,000 posts on the social media site, with videos of people eating the treat gaining millions of likes.

Lidl has today (20 March) launched its own Dubai-Style Chocolate bar via TikTok shop, priced at £3.99 plus £1 postage.

The discounter claims its 122g bars are the most affordable and only own-brand Dubai-style chocolate from a UK supermarket.

Home Bargains is also selling its own version. Bite-sized Dubai Style Chocolate ‘Dubites’ are on sale in store at £3.99 for a 100g pack.
