Dorking’s Litmus Wines has launched Ginking, a ‘revolutionary’ drink that combines the aromatics of gin with the ‘zesty nature’ of English sparkling wine.
Aimed at ‘millennial partygoers’ and ‘traditional-yet-adventurous gin drinkers’, the pre-mixed sparkling beverage has an 8.5% abv (£12.99/75cl) and notes of pink pepper, star anise, juniper and cardamom.
The corked bottle is in a Victoriana style, reflecting the liquid’s gin cues with pictures of botanicals on the back label - where the ‘fun’ history of the brand is also highlighted.
Ginking was created by John Worontschak, founder and director of wine importer and distributor Litmus Wines, after he and his wife were unable to choose one evening between gin & tonic and English fizz.
“We’ve been on a long journey since then, experimenting with different botanicals and proportions of gin, spring water and sparkling wine,” he said. “Now we’re very happy with the final result. Initial feedback has also been incredible.”
