Confectionery company Tangerine is launching a new treats line and revamping its existing Princess range, which it acquired from Burton's Foods last August.
The treats, which are aimed at indulgent confectionery fans, have been branded Princess Little Delights and include Crumbly Fudge, Peppermint Chocolate Creams and Assorted Chocolate Creams in tangerine, lemon and strawberry (rsp: £1.69).
Containing essential oils and a high cocoa content, they have secured listings
at Morrisons, Spar, Woolworths and wholesaler Palmer & Harvey McLane. "We're expecting big things from Little Delights," said MD Steve Dodds. "It's a wonderfully indulgent, high-quality new line, and early interest has been very encouraging. There has been impressive growth in soft confectionery recently so it's an ideal time to launch."
Tangerine has also reformulated the heritage Princess Marshmallows line and has refreshed the packaging to reflect new natural recipes.
The soft and fat-free marshmallows, available in Pink & White and Peaches & Cream, now contain natural colours and flavours. The relaunch will be supported by a 50%-extra free on-pack offer for its original flavour.
"Our marshmallows have always been hugely popular, and the switch to all-natural ingredients and contemporary new packaging will broaden their appeal further," said Dodds
The acquisition of Burton's Foods' confectionery brands last year, and with it its factory in Blackpool, has allowed Tangerine to add products under the Burton's and Henry Goode brand names as well as own-label lines.
It has also enabled the manufacturer to introduce products such as liquorice allsorts and dolly mixtures to its portfolio, as well as expanding its gum and jellies production.
Dodds said the company would continue to develop the business on the back of last year's rapid growth by investing in new products and looking at further expansion opportunities.
