Mochi ball ice cream brand Little Moons is moving into snackable sorbet with Refreshos.
The NPD is set to debut this month with two rice dough-wrapped variants: Very Berry and Pineapple & Mandarin.
Both flavours are HFSS-compliant, vegan and gluten-free. They provide less than 60 calories per serving and contain no artificial flavourings, colourings or preservatives.
Billed by Little Moons as a “first-to-market mochi sorbet”, Refreshos will roll into Asda at the end of January in a multipack of six (rsp: £4.80/192g).
“As Europe’s leading mochi ice cream brand, we’re constantly pushing the boundaries of innovation to stay relevant for our core fans but also drive new customer acquisition,” said Little Moons co-founder Howard Wong.
It comes after the fast-growing brand expanded its range of mochi ice cream balls with iced latte and blonde chocolate flavours last summer, and saw value sales soar 35.8% to £26.5m in the 52 weeks to 10 September 2022 [NielsenIQ].
Little Moons was crowned Food Brand of the Year at the Grocer Gold Awards 2022, after it grew its distribution 721% in a year and upped revenues 233%.
