Westerham Brewery is to add an additional beer to its range following the success of recent brand launches into Waitrose stores.
Little Scotney Best Bitter, produced by the Kent-based brewery, is set to go into Waitrose's south east stores, joining Little Scotney Pale Ale and British Bulldog beer, which were launched into 13 Waitrose stores in August as part of the retailer's local produce initiative.
The 4.3% Little Scotney Best Bitter, priced at £1.99, was formally launched at the National Trust's Scotney Castle at the beginning of last month and is described as having a complex taste with a floral, hoppy character. It is the second beer in the brewery's Little Scotney range, which was initially brewed exclusively for the National Trust. "We are delighted to be asked to supply this beer to Waitrose," said MD Robert Wicks. "The local sourcing policy of Waitrose fits in with our own ethos of producing a local product for a local market."
