Prestigious London cheesemonger Paxton & Whitfield has secured a listing on Ocado – marking the first major supermarket partnership in its 225-year history.
An exclusive range of six cheeses from P&W will be made available on Ocado this week as part of the tie-up. The cheese range consists of Baron Bigod, Old Groendal, Comte Androuet, Cave Aged Cheddar, Camembert de Normandie and Colston Bassett Stilton.
“2022 is an extra special year for Paxton & Whitfield because it marks the company’s 225th birthday,” said James Rutter, managing director of the cheesemonger.
“We are delighted to partner with Ocado to offer specially selected, hand-cut and hand-wrapped artisan cheeses from our cheese maturation rooms.”
The range will be included in Ocado’s new Big Cheese Market channel, which will launch on 3 August with the widest range of cheese across any supermarket, P&W claimed.
“The Big Cheese Market will be an online store within Ocado, designed to inspire and educate on some exciting releases,” said Rosie Hodgson, buying manager at Ocado retail.
”With more cheese to choose from than any other supermarket, our extensive range meets all tastes and budgets across the cheeseboard – including our six new Paxton & Whitfield cheeses, making up a perfect cheeseboard.”
The new range can be ordered online at Ocado alongside the retailer’s wider range of branded, own-label and M&S cheese lines.
