Lotus is taking its Biscoff biscuit brand into ice cream tubs.
The supplier has created an “indulgent dairy Lotus Biscoff ice cream base that is packed with Lotus Biscoff spread swirls and crunchy Lotus Biscoff biscuit bits” (rsp: £3.99/460ml).
They will roll into Morrisons and Waitrose from early March.
The tubs “have been developed to deliver pure indulgence, whether enjoyed as a weekday treat or shared with friends and family”, said Lotus UK category & development marketing manager Frances Booth.
Tubs feature “the impactful and eye-catching red background that the Lotus Biscoff brand has become renowned for, accompanied with a detailed crisp image of the iconic bite-sized coffee biscuit and a scoop of the new ice cream itself”, the brand added.
The NPD marks the latest in a series of cross-category plays for the long-standing biscuit brand, which last year debuted in the ice cream category with Biscoff Ice Cream Sticks.
Also in 2019, the brand moved into on-the-go snacks with Dairylea Dunker-style ‘Biscoff & Go’ dip packs, which combined Biscoff’s spread with breadsticks.
