The founder of an all-British beauty brand is seeking supermarket listings for her eco-focused range.
Skincare brand Love Your Skin London was designed to have as small a carbon footprint as possible, said its beauty expert founder Lorraine Winslade, a former QVC presenter.
“LYS London is about a tiny carbon footprint, quality, integrity and British manufacturing, sourcing and jobs,” she said. “As a brand, we say no to unnecessary packaging and products.”
The water-based range, divided into body and face products, comprises 13 lines priced from £12.99 for a shower & bath gel (200ml) to £30 for a 30ml serum.
The range is centred round the Intensive Hyrdra Gel Moisturiser (rsp: £29.99/100ml) suitable for all skin types. Consumers add a serum of their choice to the moisturiser, depending on the specific needs of their skin: either brightening & clarifying, calming & soothing, purifying & balancing or smoothing & re-texturising. All the products are free from sodium laureth sulfate and parabens.
“I wanted to create an uncomplicated beauty concept that allowed everyone to create their own bespoke regime at affordable prices,” said Winslade.
Almost all the components in the packaging were supplied from within eight miles of the brand’s London HQ, she added. The only imported part was a pump as it was not currently made in the UK. The company also sourced British ingredients “wherever possible”.
The range has been available online, but Winslade is now seeking retail listings for the brand and predicts £1.2m in first-year sales
Further products were already being developed, including foot care, SPF moisturiser and an enzyme peel. Winslade is also looking to expand the brand into cosmetics.
