The fledgling low-alcohol wine sector is set for a boost this spring with the £2.45m launch of a premium range aimed at women aged over 45.
German winery ZGM hopes to tap into the growth in lower-alcohol alternatives and healthier drinks with the brand, which is called Entwine. The five-strong range is a blend of wines mixed with fruit juices and/or sparkling water at 5.5% abv.
"Research demonstrated consumer demand for adult drinks which can be enjoyed on social occasions without full alcohol strength," said UK MD Steve Howard.
The company will be launching the range this spring and will be targeting multiple grocers and the independent retail channel.
The Entwine portfolio will consist of a Bucks Fizz, a Raspberry & Cranberry Fizz and an Elderflower Cooler, all rsp £4.99, and a Shiraz Rosé Spritzer and Sauvignon Blanc Spritzer, both rsp £2.99.
