Northern Irish wholesaler Lynas Foodservice has launched a new AI-powered system set to “revolutionise” the way the company processes orders.
Customers will be able to place orders “how they want, when they want” via email, WhatsApp messaging and voice notes, or sending pictures of handwritten notes, lists, and kitchen whiteboard pictures.
Named ‘Order Your Way’, the new tool will be available 24/7 and transforms all emails, messages, images and voicemails into integrated orders, logging them in real time directly into Lynas’ system.
The feature has achieved 98% accuracy during initial trialling stages.
The automation, powered by specialist platform Choco AI, was introduced to give customers flexibility “to make their lives easier”, according to Lynas MD Andrew Lynas.
The Coleraine-based wholesaler will still accept orders placed on the website or placed with the sales team either via phone call or on its dedicated app.
“It’s about what works best for the customer and crucially, saves them valuable time,” said Lynas.
“This is a simple but substantial move for us to both evolve our offer and our customer service, but also really make a difference to customers day to day. We believe this will drive the whole UK and Ireland foodservice sector forward.”
A member of Caterforce buying group, Lynas Foodservice supplies over 5,000 foodservice customers across the UK.
