Maxxium is hoping to boost sales of its Macallan whisky portfolio with a £1.5m marketing programme.
The company is investing in trade marketing and a direct mail consumer campaign.
It is also releasing a special edition product which it claims replicates the taste of a consignment of Macallan made in 1841.
CHILLING OUT
Croft Original sherry is running the final stage of its sampling campaign to encourage drinkers to serve it chilled. The Be Original' sampling bar has already appeared at English Heritage concerts and supermarkets. Its final port of call is at the Good Food Show next month.

Baron Philippe de Rothschild has unveiled new labeling for its Cadet Claret wine.
The move is the result of market research which showed people perceive Bordeaux wine as high quality and steeped in heritage.
To reflect this the company has chosen a more elegant label which will retain the Baron Philippe de Rothschild shield for brand recognition.
miniature mateus
Small is beautiful at First Drinks Brands which is upping the ante with miniature bottles of Mateus Rosé.
The 25cl servings have previously only been available in Asda but now have listings in Sainsbury and Tesco thanks to a new look label.
FDB has changed the appearance to match the standard 75cl bottle which was relaunched earlier this year. Rsp for 25cl: £1.49.
st peter's honour
St Peter's Brewery has been honoured with the top prize at the Organic Food Awards. The Suffolk firm's Organic Ale took the title for best organic beer and its Best Bitter was also highly commended.
