Aberness Foods, the Mace wholesaler for Scotland, has bought three more shops which means it now runs an estate of 30 company owned stores.
Two of the stores are in Dundee and the third is in Ardersier, north of Inverness.
Retail director Graeme Hay said the stores, which will trade under the Mace banner, were in key locations for the wholesaler's retail division.
Hay also revealed that Aberness would use the stores in Dundee to trial a new off licence section featuring discounted prices on a range of beers.
"We want to ensure our offering is consumer focused and competitive within the local trading area."
