Grant Mackie, managing director of Grampian Country Food Group’s beef business unit, is leaving the company.
Grampian said that Mackie was leaving the group for personal reasons to develop his career outside Grampian.
Mackie has been with Grampian Country Food Group for 15 years, during which time he has held numerous senior positions. These include his current role for the past two years and managing director for the pork division.
A spokesman for Grampian said that Mackie would not be replaced as operations had been restructured into three business units whereby its beef and lamb businesses had been combined to form a red meat unit (The Grocer, June 11, p8).
The unit, which will cover Grampian’s McIntosh Donald, Welsh Country Foods and St Merryn Meats operations, will be headed by Jose Peralta.
David Salkeld, group chief executive officer, said: “Grant has been a valued member of Grampian’s executive board and has significantly contributed to the growth and development of our pork and beef business for many years.
“I would like to thank Grant for his substantial contribution over the last 15 years and we wish him every success for the future.”
