Amsterdam plant-based pizza brand Magioni has arrived in the UK.
The brand, which sells 13,000 pizzas a day in the Netherlands, uses vegetables to replace some of the flour in its dough. It has launched two pizza bases - courgette and cauliflower - into Waitrose this month (rsp: £3.29/360g), with topped pizzas to follow in September.
“We are so proud to have helped Holland to eat an extra 250 million grams of veggies last year. Now we’re excited for our small brand of young foodies to come to the UK and provide an option for anyone who doesn’t want to choose between healthy eating and one of the nation’s favourite foods,” said founder Manon van Essen.
