Magnum has unveiled a raft of new products for 2023.
It is launching two new Double flavours, Starchaser and Sunlover, as well as new additions to its Vegan and Minis multipack ranges.
Starchaser features a milk chocolate and caramelised corn coating with popcorn, caramel ice cream and a caramel sauce.
Sunlover, meanwhile, has a white chocolate and desiccated coconut coating with a layer of mango and passionfruit sauce.
Both will be available in stick and tub formats (rsp: £2-£3.99).
The launch will be supported by a marketing campaign with the strapline ‘Pleasure is always on’, starting in April and running throughout the summer.
Magnum is also expanding its Mini and Vegan ranges, with Mini Double Caramel Collection and Vegan Raspberry Swirl.
Mini Double Caramel Collection contains a mixture of sticks in Magnum’s existing Gold Caramel Billionaire flavour and a new Caramel Almond flavour (rsp: £4.50/six-pack).
Caramel Almond comprises vanilla ice cream and salted caramel sauce, coated in a chocolate and almond layer.
The Minis range has been given a new “premium” look for 2023, including front-of-pack calorie information.
Vegan Raspberry Swirl, meanwhile, comprises “velvety raspberry ice cream with swirls of tangy raspberry sauce”, dipped in vegan chocolate (rsp: £3.99/three-pack).
“We are so excited to bring Magnum Double Starchaser and Sunlover to market this season – both products are truly outstanding and completely unique,” said Unilever’s UK & Ireland head of ice cream Jennifer Dyne.
“Insight-led innovation is vitally important to the ice cream category, creating a sense of excitement for shoppers and ensuring it remains relevant to evolving consumer trends and flavour profiles.”
Dyne added: “We will continue to expand our Vegan and Minis range with exciting new flavours. In order to create sustainable category growth, we need to continue to expand and deliver across formats and consumer needs – these ranges do just that by offering Magnum indulgence to new users and occasions.”
It comes after Unilever shrunk its multipacks in 2022 in a bid to mitigate surging costs. The previous 110ml sticks included in its 4x110ml Classic and White multipacks were swapped for 100ml ones, The Grocer revealed in July.
