Maisy, a new magazine aimed at children, is launching from Redan publishing on August 22 as part of its Fun to Learn series.
The publication centres around Maisy the mouse, the popular children's character from the Lucy Cousins books.
Maisy also has her own television series on Children's ITV, where the publisher says the mouse is estimated to have 1.2 million loyal fans.
To promote the launch, the first issue of the four-weekly magazine will carry a covermount of Maisy-stitched stickers.
Redan says the title has been designed to complement its Fun to Learn children's series, where titles include activities such as colouring and counting, to help children learn in an entertaining way. Inside FTL Maisy, Redan says, there will be stories alongside fun educational activities, including a workbook section. The magazine will have an estimated print run of 80,000.
Robert Sutherland, managing director of Redan, said the launch of Maisy should prove popular with children and parents alike:
"Maisy is a very popular licence in the UK and will serve to further strengthen the already successful Fun to Learn series. The mix of fun activities and workbook style entertainment serves to please not only the child but also the parent, as it supports the National Curriculum and early learning goals."
FTL Maisy will have a cover price of £1.75. Distribution is by Comag.
