Majestic Wine has added Romanian winery Cramele Recas’ pinot grigio to its online ‘Majestic Loves’ selection.
The wine was selected to join Majestic’s online portfolio following blind tasting of over 500 different bottles, which saw 75% of the 2,000-strong tasting panel choose Cramele Recas’ pinot grigio (rsp: £6.99/75cl) over traditional Italian variants.
The winery was “notorious for breaking the mould” as a producer, creating blends using “typically temperamental grapes” in a “harsh” climate, Majestic said.
Its pinot grigio had a “twinkle of acidity” and would be best paired with “popular summery dishes”, it added.
