A major £0.25m investment in a new packaging store by Inverness-based seafood processor Strathaird Salmon is now operational, providing extra capacity as Christmas nears.
The 410 sq m store has created additional space, allowing Strathaird to increase its smoked salmon output to 40 tonnes per week.
The extra capacity will also allow Strathaird to capitalise upon the success of a new peat smoked salmon line just launched by the company for Sainsbury’s Taste the Difference range. The retailer is promoting it as one of its Quality Hero products - an accolade awarded to only nine other products.
