Marks & Spencer is considering a switch to Omega-3-rich supplies for its standard milk offer, The Grocer understands.
Earlier this year, the retailer launched Fresh Omega-3 milk, and sources close to the company say it is investigating whether it should sell all of its milk on an Omega-3 platform.
Fresh Omega-3 was launched in May, the same month that Dairy Crest - which supplies M&S’s standard milk - launched St Ivel Advance, a milk that is also rich in Omega-3.
St Ivel Advance has Omega-3 added during manufacture, while the Omega-3 in the M&S line is achieved by feeding the cows a diet high in Omega-3.
An M&S spokeswoman denied that the retailer was planning such a step.
