Marks & Spencer has added three new in-store Wasabi sushi concessions over the summer.
M&S launched its first Wasabi counter last October at its Westfield, Stratford branch, in south-east London, selling a mix of raw sushi and hot meals.
It followed this at Oxford Street, Milton Keynes, Marble Arch and Kingston.
The retailer has now added to the initial five-store trial. It added concessions in Canary Wharf and Riverside Paddington in May and Moorgate at the end of July.
“We did the first five stores. We are pleased with how they’ve gone, which is why we’ve gone for three more,” said an M&S spokesman. “We will continue to trial and evaluation. If it’s successful we will do more of them. We think it sits extremely well with our customer base.
“It complements what we do. We are passionate about food and it utilises apace in some of our bigger stores. We have a very good partnership going with Wasabi.”
A Wasabi spokesman added: “We are always looking into new opportunities within M&S and work closely with their development team.”
