M&S has become the latest retailer to measure the carbon footprints of its dedicated milk suppliers.
The company has completed its analysis of the 44 farms in its UK milk pool using a measuring tool developed by supplier group Dairy Crest Direct. M&S will use the data to set fuel, feed and fertiliser usage targets for future annual assessments.
“It’s a fantastic starting point – it enables us to make a real difference to the impact of greenhouse gas emissions,” said M&S agriculture manager Steven McLean.
