Curry lovers will be able to indulge themselves with a wide range of new dishes at Marks and Spencer from next week.
The retailer is taking advantage of National Curry Week to launch its biggest range of Indian foods yet.
Marks and Spencer has been working with Michelin-starred chef Atul Kochhar to renew and expand its offering from an original 26 to 47 products.
The new range, which has been under development for the past 18 months, features eight starters, three tandoori, 11 curries and six chef's specials. The weight of all main portions has been increased by 50g.
Norman Angel, category manager, said: "The aim was to create an authentic quality offering and we think we've managed to do that."
In developing the range the retailer worked with Kochhar to ensure it used the right ingredients and key elements behind Indian cooking to ensure authenticity.
Janine Wills, product developer, said: "We've created a new selection of dishes which really reflects how people order from an Indian menu, offering starters, main courses and accompaniments. We've also made significant improvements to recipes of our existing curries."
Kochhar added: "I'm delighted with the range, and we'll be taking authentic Indian cuisine to a wider audience."
The range, made up of products ranging from £1.29 for Pilau rice to a Marathi Lamb Shank for £4.99, will be rolled out across the entire Marks and Spencer estate on Monday.
