Marks & Spencer is hoping to inspire romantic couples with a Valentine’s Day TV push, showcasing a selection of its indulgent food and drink.
The ‘Adventures in Love’ commercial, on air from tomorrow [Wednesday 10 February], features what the retailer refers to as its ‘perfect for a romantic night in’ products, ranging from steak and handmade heart-shaped chocolates, to pink Champagne.
The ad had been designed to encourage lovesick shoppers to buy into M&S’s Valentine’s Day Dine in for Two for £20 offer, said head of food brand & marketing Liza Freudmann, adding the seasonal dine in deal had become “an institution that gets bigger every year”.
The ad is the latest instalment in M&S’s ‘Adventures in Food’ campaign, created by RKCR/Y&R, and follows an ‘Adventures in Wonderfood’ commercial for the retailer’s healthy food offering launched last month.
