Marks and Spencer has launched a high-protein range of prepared meals, sandwiches and salads aimed at dieters.
The 40-strong Simply Fuller Longer range, which includes Chargrilled Chicken & Vegetable Noodles with Savoury Miso Dressing, and Peppered Salmon and King Prawn & Cous Cous Salad, hit the shelves this month.
The retailer has also launched a website, www.marksandspencer.com/health, alongside the range.
"The range is based on the principle that protein keeps us feeling fuller for longer than carbohydrates or fat, thus reducing the temptation to snack after meals," said M&S nutritionist Claire Hughes.
"We have increased the proportion of calories coming from protein at each meal, so we've included plenty of chicken and fish, for example, plus beans and pulses, as well as a healthy balance of vegetables."
