Marks & Spencer has ventured into long-life milk for the first time in a bid to help shoppers cut down on waste.
The one-litre Tetra Brik cartons of whole, semi-skimmed and skimmed milk are produced at Crediton Dairy, Devon.
Milk was an essential item for most customers and the new range would help customers because they wouldn’t need to over-buy chilled milk that can go off before they are able to use it, said Kerry Ann Ward, buyer at M&S.
“This will help to cut down on unnecessary milk – and money – down the drain. Long-life milk is also a handy option when refrigeration isn’t possible – great for outdoors events and outings over the summer.”
The Tetra cartons keep milk fresh, unopened, for up to six months without refrigeration.
