Marks & Spencer has made three senior appointments to its global leadership team as it ‘resets’ its international business.
Manish Kapoor has been appointed director for M&S India, joining from Pepe Jeans London, where he was MD & CEO for India.
Victoria Jones has been appointed M&S international commercial director, having previously been chief product and merchandising officer at Clarks.
The third appointment is an internal promotion, with Richard Davies stepping up from M&S head of category for brands to be its new international partnerships director.
Kapoor is set to join the M&S International leadership team in April, while Jones and Davies have already started in their new roles.
All three will report to M&S international MD Mark Lemming, who was appointed last year as the retailer announced a reset of priorities for its international business under fresh leadership.
Lemming’s remit is to build strong foundations for future growth through capital-light partnerships and a multi-platform online business.
Over time, the reset aims to enable greater opportunity to leverage the strength and knowledge of the M&S UK business and trusted brand to increase global reach.
“The reset of our international business is focused on taking the right time and actions to build strong foundations for sustainable growth,” said Lemming.
“Building an experienced global leadership team is an essential element of this plan and Manish, Victoria and Richard will play important roles, bringing fresh perspectives on our international reset and future growth strategy.
“As we continue to progress, I remain confident in the medium and long-term opportunity for M&S to drive global growth.”
