M&S is hiring 12,000 seasonal workers to support its stores over the Christmas period.
The retailer has launched a recruitment drive to look for customer service assistant roles to help during the busy festive season.
The new roles will span food, clothing and home, with jobs available in stores across the UK.
In addition, M&S also has 750 seasonal and permanent vacancies available across its distribution centres in Milton Keynes and Bradford to help fulfil online orders in the run-up to Christmas.
“Here at M&S we’re busy preparing for the exciting Christmas period – and to help us deliver the famous M&S magic and sparkle our customers know us for, this year our fantastic store teams are looking for an additional 12,000 seasonal colleagues,” said M&S stores director Helen Milford.
The new recruits are set to join M&S from early December. The grocer is offering applicants a range of contract lengths and start dates.
It said there “may be opportunities for permanent employment after Christmas too” – depending on vacancies at each store.
Some of the colleague benefits include a 20% discount both in-store and online.
M&S joins a series of other retailers that have already kicked off their Christmas recruitment schemes, including Sainsbury’s, Waitrose and Tesco.
