M&S has taken the lion’s share of gold medals won by supermarket wines at the International wine Challenge.
Of the 23 golds given to own-label wines, M&S took six for products including Spanish sherries Manzanilla and Dry Old Palo Cortado, and Charles Orban Blanc de Noirs Champagne.
Waitrose and Sainsbury’s won four golds each for wines including three Waitrose Champagnes and Sainsbury’s Conegliano Prosecco Superiore Brut.
Gold also went to three Tesco Finest wines and three Morrisons wines. Aldi was awarded two golds, and Asda one.
