M&S has declared its Pick and Mix trial a roaring success and has rolled the range out to 100 stores.
The retailer began selling the sweets in six stores in April and launched it in a further 94 branches such as Marble Arch, Manchester, Tolworth, Aberdeen and Newcastle last week.
The bestselling line has been milk bottles, followed by dolly mixtures and Percy Piglets, said a spokeswoman. "Customers have also particularly liked the candy-striped pick and mix containers," she added.
The range costs £1.99 for a 400ml container or £3.99 for 800ml. The introduction of Pick and Mix is part of the new M&S Sweet Shops fixtures, which include the 100 confectionery lines that were rolled out last week.
M&S is one of a growing list of retailers and wholesalers to have launched Pick and Mix. Thorntons and several independents have added the range since the demise of Woolworths.
