Distributor Mapa Spontex is launching a new brand of natural cleaning products this week.

The You range features four liquid cleaners - all-purpose, kitchen, bathroom and window - available as a 500ml trigger spray bottle (rsp: £3.99). Refills will also be sold in a 12ml capsule format that needs to be mixed with 500ml of water (rsp: £1.99). It has made its UK debut in Dunelm Mill and Ocado.

You launched in France in 2012 and has performed well, Mapa Spontex said. The products are made from 100% plant-based ingredients with no synthetic dyes or perfumes. Independent tests show them to be as efficient as traditional chemical cleaners, the distributor claimed.

“We are delighted to launch the new generation of household cleaners into the UK market,” said Mapa Spontex marketing head Joanne Evans. “We feel it is setting the benchmark for all cleaners in the future.”

The launch comes as other environmentally friendly brands, such as Method and E-cloth, are reporting growing consumer interest in green products [The Grocer Focus on Household, February 2014].
