Starbucks has appointed Martin Brok as its president for Europe, the Middle East and Africa. He replaces Kris Engskov who becomes a global executive vice president, moving to Seattle.
The global coffee giant said Brok, who joined in February as senior vice president for strategic partnerships, had experience in the EMEA region and globally with leading brands.
He was Nike’s vice president of global product and merchandising operations, chief operating officer for its direct-to-consumer business and general manager Western Europe and Asia-Pacific.
Before Nike, Brok was senior vice president for franchise and marketing for EMEA at Burger King. Brok said he would focus on growing Starbucks stores, channel development and digital through innovation, creating new occasions and relationship building with customers. “Kris’s hard work means we are a strong part of the global team and well prepared for our next wave of growth,” he added.
Engskov said a new business model was driving sustainable profitability and a healthy portfolio of stores, with new partnership agreements in 39 countries.
