Martin Williams is to return to the Federation of Wholesale Distributors team as associate director.
Williams, who was chairman of the federation for three years, announced his departure from FWD and from his position as MD of Landmark Wholesale to pursue a different direction in his career at the end of last year.
In the new part-time role, Williams will work with suppliers to ensure FWD is supporting its objectives and priorities as well as engaging potential members.
“We want suppliers and service providers to get full value from the events, research, advice and access that membership offers, and having Martin on board gives us the ability to offer them an even better service,” said FWD executive James Bielby.
Since stepping down two months ago, Williams has been operating a consultancy business.
“I thoroughly enjoyed my three years as FWD chairman and I’m delighted to be part of the team that is bringing wholesale together to improve understanding and efficiency in our sector,” said Williams.
“I will be offering to visit our supplier members to understand what they want to achieve from investment in the wholesale channel, and to design membership packages which help them reach those targets.”
