Landmark Wholesale MD Martin Williams is become chairman of the Federation of Wholesale Distributors this April.
Williams, who has 30 years of experience in the wholesale market, will take over from Booker MD Guy Farrant, who has been chairman for two years. Farrant will remain on the council.
“I’m delighted to have been elected to succeed Guy who has been a fantastic chairman. Over his two years in office FWD’s profile has risen significantly under his guidance and we are in an excellent position to push forward with our ongoing workstreams,” Williams said.
“In the year ahead we will be expanding our events programme to create further opportunities for bringing wholesalers and suppliers together to discuss how we can provide a better service across the board for our customers.
“We will also be working with several government departments to ensure the sector has a say in the development of policy and legislation, particularly around alcohol, food issues and crime against wholesalers.”
Williams will work alongside FWD CEO James Bielby, as the team looks to promote the wholesale industry, represent members’ interests to government and improve communications within the supply chain.
