Mary Barnard has been promoted to president of Northern Europe at Mondelez International.
Barnard joined Mondelez International from PepsiCo in March this year as managing director, Nordics.
In a new role for the company, Barnard will be responsible for the UK, Ireland, Norway, Sweden, Finland and Denmark.
“I am delighted to be taking on this role at a pivotal moment for our business,” Barnard said. “I have enjoyed my first few months in the Nordics and am looking forward to taking on this new role and broader remit.”
Barnard was senior vice president and general manager for the global Pepsi-Lipton partnership at PepsiCo.
She started her career at Rank Hovis McDougall in 1989 and joined PepsiCo in 1997, rising to marketing director of Walkers crisps. In 2003, she was appointed business unit director for Tesco and then general manager of Quaker and Tropicana.
“Mary’s strong track record and experience of working with power brands make her a perfect fit for this newly created role,” said Hubert Weber, president of Mondelez Europe.
