Wholesaler Mason Foodservice has joined Sterling Supergroup as part of its ongoing growth plan.
Earlier this year, the family-owned company added a new 20,000 sq ft warehouse expansion at its headquarters in Oadby, Leicester.
The wholesaler decided to open the new space after outgrowing its existing two 14,000 sq ft warehouses due to rising customer demand.
The ‘major expansion’ plan coincides with the wholesaler’s 80th birthday, and includes renewing its commitment to innovate customer service to better serve its patch.
“This expansion represents a transformative moment for our business. By combining increased capacity, a broader product range, and improved pricing power, we are setting the stage for sustained growth and improved service to our customers,” said owner George Mason.
“Becoming a part of the Sterling Supergroup family has allowed us to give our customers access to a larger range of products at fantastic prices. Along with the changes the Mason Foods team is making with technological advancements, it’s a proud step forward as we approach our 80th year in business.”
The business supplies fresh, ambient and frozen goods to a variety of foodservice businesses in Leicestershire, Nottinghamshire, Derbyshire, Warwickshire, Northamptonshire, Rutland and the West Midlands.
The wholesaler continues to be family-owned and led, having first opened its doors in 1945 as a fresh fish and poultry business run from a single van, and undergoing rebranding in 2019, when it changed its name to Mason Foodservice.
