Berry Bros & Rudd has bolstered its sales operations with the appointment of ex-Enotria & Coe commercial director Matt Davies as MD of its wholesale & specialist distributor business, Fields Morris & Verdin.
Davies, who was managing director of Coe Vintners before it merged with Enotria in 2015, will take charge of the on and off-trade sales teams.
His “experience for driving strong sales growth for both wines and spirits will be invaluable to both the FMV and BB&R wholesale channels” said Berry Bros & Rudd chief executive Dan Jago.
Meanwhile, the role of BB&R’s agency director, Damian Carrington, will now see him deal primarily with supplier relationships, while Davies handles sales.
The new structure would “ensure our suppliers are provided with dedicated, specialist support while we develop distribution across our trade network” added Jago.
The news follows a deal for the wine merchant this week with Scottish “new wave” distillery Daftmill, which will see BB&R take responsibility for distributing Daftmill’s spirits at home and abroad. The distiller is poised to release its first single malt whisky “in the near future”.
