Kerry Foods is replacing three of its Mattessons cooked meats products with new versions in October in the second phase of a £5m brand reinvestment programme. Thomas and Friends ham slices replace the pork blend, while Mr Strong chicken slices supercede the Mr Happy chicken and turkey versions. They are made from single meat types rather than blends, are shaped like their namesakes, and are aimed at children up to five. The Simpsons' Hot Dogs replace Smokey Joes. New TV ads in February 2001 TV will echo the 1980s strapline Mattessons Mmm'. Press ads in supermarket magazines will back the children's products. {{P&P }}
