Matthew Clark is to become a major distributor for Molson Coors in Scotland as the Carling brewer looks to ramp up its on-trade offer in the region.
From 27 September, Matthew Clark will take over distribution of Molson Coors’ products to the independent on-premise market in Scotland.
The wholesaler will supply Molson Coors brands, which include Carling, Coors Light and Cobra, to pubs, clubs, hotels and bars in Scotland. A consolidated invoicing system will allow on-trade customers to receive orders through Matthew Clark.
“We are delighted to have formed a joint partnership with Molson Coors in Scotland,” said managing director for Matthew Clark Scotland Des Gallagher. “Their portfolio of great brands will be complementary to our existing product range, and enhance the choice we can offer our customers. We very much look forward to working with the Molson Coors team, helping them to increase their brand presence in Scotland.”
Commercial director for Molson Coors in Scotland Keith Fagan said: “This is an exciting time for Molson Coors in Scotland. This partnership will first and foremost improve our customer offer in the Scottish free on-trade.
“It will allow us absolute focus on driving our core brands, while growing our portfolio. We want to bring the Molson Coors portfolio of amazing beers to more of Scotland’s beer lovers.”
Molson Coors will continue to service the rest of its UK on-trade customers and the new partnership with Matthew Clark will operate alongside the brewer’s existing agreement to directly supply pub and wholesale operator Belhaven.
