McColl’s has signed a contract with digital company Bolt Learning to provide online staff training.
The training will cover health and safety, age-related sales and customer service for 22,000 McColl’s employees including store managers and staff.
“Being the chosen partner for McColl’s new e-learning employee development programme is very exciting for us,” said Bolt head of learning proposition Katie Jenkins.
“It will give McColl’s stores a real competitive edge in a challenging and changing retail landscape.”
McColl’s launched the new initiative at its managers’ conference last month, and Bolt says the training modules created so far have generated a positive response from staff.
Bolt has tailored its modules to convenience retail, many of which have received accreditation by the ACS Assured Advice scheme.
The Bolt system allows McColl’s to track and measure every area of its employee training to ascertain skills and knowledge gaps.
