Colin Hutchison, MD of McVitie’s UK, will leave United Biscuits at the end of the year after a restructure of its senior management.
McVitie’s UK sales director Martin Perkin has already left the company, having refused the offer of another sales role. Neither Hutchison nor Perkin are being replaced.
The changes are the result of a merger of United Biscuits’ snacks and biscuits operations to form a single business entity, United Biscuits UK. Will Carter, KP managing director, has become md of the new company and has taken on Hutchison’s responsibilities.
Hutchison will temporarily manage key projects in United Biscuits international sales and north American division before he leaves. Perkin’s responsibilities have been taken over by United Biscuits UK sales director Martin Totty.
The company is in the process of seeking a candidate to take on the role of head of strategic marketing UK.
The company confirmed that the present structure of its cakes business remains and that no further staff moves were planned.
