A new boss at Stock Spirits and the start of a turnaround in Poland picked up plenty of coverage this morning.
The Mail says the yoga-loving, father-of-two has been given the job on a permanent basis after stepping up as interim chief executive in April. It adds that the move ends the revolt at the vodka maker with Miroslaw Stachowicz becoming the first Polish chief executive of a big British company. A rise in profits at Stock Spirits and the appointment of a new chief executive has buoyed hopes the beleaguered vodka distiller is on the cusp of a turnaround, The Telegraph writes. Shares in the London-listed group 1.9% after it reported a jump in first-half pre-tax profits to €12.7m. The Financial Times reports that Stock cheered a recovery in first-half sales and profits after a “difficult” 2015. The group has faced a shareholder revolt and the ousting of former CEO Chris Heath earlier this year.
